Florida Limestone Reefs

Tropical storm Ida did considerable damage to the new Alabama Gulf State Park fishing pier. There was concern for the 12 "Florida Limestone" artificial reefs deployed around the end of the pier earlier this year. A survey of the units in 25 ft of water confirmed they did not move or bury. One unit was removed and inspected by Reefmaker and found in good condition. It was redeployed in the same location. The reefs have proven a great asset to the pier and record catches are reported including one Sailfish.
